Hi there, I’m Yam, a vocal coach with extensive experience in the music industry as a singer and songwriter. Music has been my passion from a young age.
I started playing the piano when I was just six years old, and soon after, I began creating my own music as a means of self-expression. By the age of 11, I had discovered my love for classical music and became a lyric soprano. I spent over a decade performing classical music, but I always knew that I wanted to share my original music with the world. Sharing love and kindness through my music was my main goal.
After studying 5 years as a music major at the University of St. Thomas, , I released my first album and began touring in Mexico, Canada, and Latin America. During this time, I had the privilege of performing at massive radio festivals alongside some of Mexico’s most popular singers and opening two concerts at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. My first single, “Quien Soy,” even became part of the soundtrack for the TV series Gossip Girl Acapulco and La Rosa de Guadalupe.
After touring for 3 years, and having achieved my musical dream, I wanted to pursue the dream of having a family of my own. I returned to Houston, and to the University of St. Thomas and complete my Bachelors Degree in Philosophy.
Now as a mother of two beautiful kids, I want to keep music in my life by sharing the love of music and everything that I’ve learned with others.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with talented musicians, producers, non-profit organizations and fashion brands. As a vocal coach, I draw on this experience to help aspiring singers find their voice, confidence and achieve their goals while having a great time.
